Our Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

At Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd., we strive to provide excellent software and services. This Refund Policy explains how refunds, withdrawals and billing questions are handled for our one-time purchase products and our services.

We do not sell subscriptions. All of our software licences are one-time purchases. There are no recurring charges, no automatic renewals and no cancellation is ever required to stop future payments.

1. What We Sell

1.1 Software Licences (One-Time Purchase)

  • Standard Licence: A one-time payment for a perpetual licence to use the software, including free updates for 12 months from the date of purchase
  • Lifetime Licence: A one-time payment for a perpetual licence to use the software, including free updates as described in Section 5 of this policy

1.2 Services

Services (for example setup, consulting, development, marketing or other project work) are provided on the basis of an individual quote or agreement and are charged as one-time fees for the agreed scope of work.

1.3 Who Sells Our Software (Merchant of Record)

Online purchases of our software licences are processed by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. Paddle is the seller of record for these transactions, collects payment and applicable taxes, issues your receipt and processes refunds. In addition to this policy, Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy apply to these purchases (see Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy).

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.

2. Statutory Right of Withdrawal (Consumers)

2.1 Who Has This Right

If you are a consumer (buying for purposes outside your trade, business or profession) in the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. Businesses buying for commercial purposes do not have a statutory right of withdrawal.

2.2 Software Licences (Digital Content)

  • The withdrawal period is 14 days from the date of the transaction
  • If you withdraw in time, you receive a full refund of the price paid
  • Your right of withdrawal expires early if, during checkout, you expressly agreed that the software is made available to you before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal, and you then started downloading, activating or using the software
  • If you did not give this consent and acknowledgement, your 14-day right of withdrawal remains, even if you have already downloaded the software

2.3 Services

  • The withdrawal period is 14 days from the conclusion of the contract
  • If you expressly asked us to begin the service before the end of the withdrawal period and then withdraw, you pay an amount proportionate to the part of the service already provided
  • Your right of withdrawal expires once the service has been fully performed, if you expressly requested that performance begin before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal upon full performance

2.4 How to Withdraw

  • Software purchased via Paddle: Use the withdrawal option in the Paddle Customer Portal (via the link in your Paddle receipt email or at paddle.net), or contact Paddle or us
  • Services: Send us a clear statement (for example by email to optosoftechs@gmail.com) that you wish to withdraw from the contract
  • Sending your withdrawal statement before the period ends is sufficient
  • Refunds are made within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the original payment method

3. Defective Software or Services

If our software or service does not work as described, your statutory warranty rights apply regardless of the withdrawal period:

  • Please contact us first with a description of the problem so we can fix it, for example through a bug fix, update or replacement
  • If we are unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time, you are entitled to your statutory remedies, which may include a price reduction or termination of the contract with a refund
  • These rights are not affected by any other provision of this policy

4. Standard Licence After the Update Period

  • After 12 months, the free update period of the Standard Licence ends
  • Your licence remains valid and the software continues to work with the last version you were entitled to
  • No renewal takes place and you will never be charged automatically
  • The end of the update period is not a reason for a refund

5. Lifetime Licence – What ‘Lifetime’ Means

5.1 Scope of Lifetime Updates

‘Lifetime’ refers to the period during which Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd. is actively operating its business. It does not refer to the lifetime of the purchaser or of a particular computer. For as long as Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd. is actively operating, the Lifetime Licence includes all updates for the licensed software released during that time, without any further payment or renewal.

5.2 Closure of the Business or Insolvency

If Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd. permanently ceases its business operations, or if insolvency proceedings are opened and the business is not continued, the provision of updates and support for the Lifetime Licence ends. In that case:

  • We will inform licence holders by email as early as reasonably possible, where we are still able to do so
  • Your licence remains valid, and installations that are already activated continue to work with the last version provided
  • Your business data is stored on your own computer and remains under your control
  • Activating the software on a new or additional computer requires our activation service, which may no longer be available after the closure; please keep regular backups
  • In insolvency proceedings, the provisions of the applicable insolvency law apply
  • Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected

5.3 Sale, Merger or Acquisition

  • Change of ownership: If the shares or ownership of Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd. are sold, your contract remains with the same company and the Lifetime Licence, including lifetime updates, continues unchanged
  • Transfer of the business or software to another company: We will seek to have the acquiring company take over the Lifetime Licence obligations
  • Your contract, including the lifetime update commitment, can only be transferred to another company with your consent; we will inform you in advance of any proposed transfer, including the name of the new provider
  • If you do not consent, or if the acquiring company does not take over the obligations, our obligations towards you remain with Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd.; if Opto Softechs Pvt. Ltd. subsequently ceases its business operations, Section 5.2 applies

6. Services

  • Payment terms, milestones and cancellation terms for services are set out in the individual quote or agreement
  • Where the individual agreement contains no provision, the statutory rules apply
  • For consumers, the right of withdrawal described in Section 2.3 applies in addition

7. Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges

  • If you believe you were charged incorrectly or more than once, please contact us or Paddle with your transaction details
  • Confirmed billing errors and duplicate charges are refunded in full
  • If you notice a charge you do not recognise, please contact us or Paddle immediately so we can investigate

8. Effect of a Refund on Your Licence

  • When a software purchase is refunded or withdrawn, the associated licence key is deactivated
  • You must stop using the software and uninstall it
  • Please export any business data you need before the refund is completed

9. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

  • Please contact us or Paddle before filing a chargeback with your bank or card provider – most issues can be resolved quickly
  • If a chargeback is filed, the licence key associated with the transaction may be suspended until the dispute is resolved
  • If a chargeback is decided in your favour, the licence is treated as refunded (see Section 8)

10. Cases Without a Refund

Subject always to your statutory rights described in Sections 2 and 3, refunds are generally not provided for:

  • Software purchases where the right of withdrawal has expired as described in Section 2.2 and the software works as described
  • A change of mind after the withdrawal period, or where no withdrawal right exists (for example purchases by businesses)
  • The end of the 12-month update period of a Standard Licence
  • Services that have already been fully performed
  • Problems caused by hardware, operating systems or third-party software that do not meet the published system requirements

11. How to Request a Refund

Email: optosoftechs@gmail.com
Subject: ‘Refund Request’

Please include:

  • The email address used for the purchase
  • Your Paddle order or transaction number, or your invoice number for services
  • Your licence key (for software)
  • The reason for your request (not required for a statutory withdrawal)

We will respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds for software are issued by Paddle to the original payment method; depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take a few additional business days until the amount appears on your statement.

12. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this policy, for example to comply with new legal requirements or to reflect new products or services. Changes apply only to purchases made after the change. Purchases already made are governed by the version of this policy in force at the time of purchase; a later change will not reduce the updates included in a licence you have already bought. Previous versions of this policy remain available on this page.

13. Questions and Support

For refund questions or requests:

  • Email: optosoftechs@gmail.com
  • Payments and receipts: paddle.net

This Refund Policy is effective as of September 2026.
